North Perrott made it through to the quarter finals of the National Village Cup with a victory against Marshfield CC.
Batting first Perrott made 188 -9 many thought a below par score. Skipper Jake Symes lead the way making a patient 58 and supported by 15 year old Jamie Baird 29 and Lewis Hunt 29.
Perrott knew they had to match the fielding of Marshfield and to a man they did just that.
Lewis Hunt putting in a 'man of the match' performancet took the first 4 Marshfield wickets. The game changed when 16 year old Max Dicker took 3 wickets in an over as score went from 90-4 to 91-7. Gerorge Retter meantime put in a misely spell of 8 overs for just 10 runs. Marshfields David Jenkins 54 looked likely to spoil the party when a direct hit from Jake Symes saw him run out. That left Stacey Hawes to clean bowl the last 2 batsman and secure victory by 21 runs.
Perrott will host Liphook & Ripsley CC from Hampshire on Sunday 22nd July in the quarter final. The first time either club has made it this far in the competition.
